Project Overview

The project is for a client who is a popular global design organization located in the USA, with branches all over the globe. They have a team of designers, engineers, teachers, and researchers who look at creating change through design, by building learning platforms and tools to unlock creativity. They create human-centered inventions, services, spaces, and associations that empower groups, cities, and even countries.

The client was keen to implement APIs such that they can leverage the Power BI model data, measures and KPIs as defined by the business users. Building the APIs from various Power BI models & integrating them all at a single place was a great challenge. Even the implementation of custom filters & drill through levels as provided by Power BI reports was a tough task.

Looking at the challenges faced by the client, SPEC INDIA created dynamic data pointers using .NET MVC architecture. Dynamic DAX was implemented to get custom filters & drill through levels using C# .NET programming features. Our solution was meant to create effective Power BI APIs to fulfill client’s objectives. The purpose of building Power BI APIs was to provide processed data to data scientists for data analytics & reporting purpose.

Key Components
