They were keen to design and develop a business intelligence solution that can track different parameters like daily sales, returns, supplies. They were also interested in tracking insights by amount and value based on a comparison of the current and previous year, current and previous week, and current and previous 13-week average duration. They were keen to get alerts if anything goes wrong to take necessary action.
The client was finding it difficult to get familiar with the inhouse product and data integration automation process. They were unable to retrieve desired measures as mentioned above with ease and efficacy and were keen to have an integrated reporting system that can extract data as needed, with desired parameters.
Looking at the challenges faced by the client, SPEC INDIA followed the Time & Material process with the Agile approach to develop the roadmap and architecture of the product. After identifying and researching various modern methodologies, we designed and launched the Power BI app in the app store.
Our Power BI-based software application aims at providing detailed insight into online & offline newspaper views, distribution, media consumption, etc. We developed an automation process to get & transform data using Azure Data Factory & Logic Apps/Power Automate for designing and developing ETL, from which data was inserted into Snowflake which was used to create Power BI Dashboards.
We created complex Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) considering each section of the filter and amount/value selection based on KPIs. We utilized ADF and Logic App to get rows and send mail alerts. We leveraged the cloud-based Snowflake database for database usage. We used Power Apps for write-back functionality to Snowflake by creating UI/UX like Power BI table and using a custom connector in Power Apps for connecting to Snowflake.
